What can I expect

Meet Ruth South who is our Head of Graduate and Apprentice Programmes and find out what our graduates experience during their time as part of the graduate community :

Capgemini Graduate Community

  • Technology and Business Consultant Opportunities
Join our Capgemini Graduate Community and following an induction week, you'll go straight into your first role, working on complex projects for big-name clients and helping to find solutions to their business critical needs. From then on, you will have the chance to work alongside and learn from experts in different industries and you'll be able to make rapid progress along whichever path suits you best. Being a part of a Graduate Community will allow you to build your professional network, develop, share your knowledge, socialise and have fun.

The nature of our work means that for many of our roles you may be based on client site anywhere in the country or potentially abroad. If you are unable to work away from home from Monday to Friday, Capgemini may not be for you.

We review applications on a first come, first served basis so we recommend that you submit your application asap. We will keep you updated at every stage of the process and will let you know your outcome asap. For several of our more popular roles for which we receive a high volume of applications, not all candidates who reach the final stage are invited to assessment centre as we have a limited number of roles. Our assessment centres commence mid-November and will run through to May, we will be prioritising applications for our March and June intakes, so if are applying for September or November and you reach this stage there could be a little wait until your assessment centre. Please do bear with us, we receive a high volume of applications and do review each one and sometimes things don't move as fast as either you or we would like.

We have a variety of interesting roles for technical and non-technical Graduates. Please choose from one of the following three options to see which of our roles might be of interest to you:
  • Who's this for
At Capgemini, academics form part of our overall hiring decision but we don't screen out purely on the basis of academic performance. We will assess your suitability for a role using a number of tools including strengths and critical reasoning assessments, video interviewing and assessment centres.

The most important things we look for in your application are a genuine passion for technology, a desire to be part of this fast-paced, ever-changing industry, and excellent skills in communication, innovation and collaboration. Many of our roles require security clearance, you will usually need to have been resident in the UK for at least five years, and to have received indefinite leave to remain here.

Stephanie Bishop (Head of Graduate and Apprentice Recruitment) shares what Strengths are and what Strengths we look for at Capgemini:

Are you feeling a little apprehensive about our selection process?

We understand that our process is a little different and the prospect of a digital interview could seem quite daunting especially if this is the first time completing one. We have therefore created a digital interview demo which includes a great video featuring Ben (our Apprentice Programme Manager), Ben shares what to expect in our Situational Strengths Assessment and our Digital Interview. You are then given the opportunity to answer 4 digital interview questions. Don't worry we won't be watching these so you can relax and hopefully enjoy the experience.
We hope that you find our demo helpful and it helps prepare you for our assessment process. We understand that there is little opportunity to speak to someone until you reach assessment centre stage, so if you would like to speak with us please do get in touch with us at graduate.careers.uk@capgemini.com and we will would happily arrange time to talk.
Selection process
Your application form is your first chance to impress! Take the time to complete it fully, answering the few questions to the best of your ability. Evidence that you have done your research into Capgemini and the role you are applying to.

This is also a great opportunity to tell us more about yourself and what you feel you can bring to our diverse organisation.

We look forward to hearing your story.
You will be sent a series of typical scenarios you may encounter in your role at Capgemini. We want to know how you would respond in these scenarios and will ask you to prioritise your responses from a list of multiple options. This will tell us whether you would enjoy working at Capgemini and whether you have the overall strengths to be successful here. As well as being a great assessment tool, you will have have a great preview for you of some of the things you might end up doing with us. You'll receive a personalised feedback report which gives you your top three strengths, and some advice for how you might want to further develop these. You'll receive this whether you're successful or unsuccessful, and the outcome will follow shortly afterwards.

Please note, this is not a timed assessment
During this exciting stage of our process you shall have the opportunity to demonstrate your capabilities using real-life scenarios. This engaging digital experience will allow you to view Capgemini in a different light and we shall be taking you on a journey and sharing with you some exciting resources such as videos, photos, infographics and case studies. Immerse yourself in this unique Capgemini experience and be prepared to showcase yourself using different methods (multiple choice, essay and video questions etc).

Our tip to you is to remember to revisit our website and keep up to date with the current trends in our industry. Also, be prepared to share why you want to work for Capgemini and why you think you are right for the role you have selected.

Relax and be yourself.
Our assessment centres are focussed around your strengths, and how you demonstrate these. You'll complete a number of different activities during the half day event. This will also require you to think about why you're so excited about the opportunity at Capgemini. We also hope that your experience provides you with an insight into what life could be like as a Capgemini Graduate.

Due to the high volume of applications received, we are unable to provide feedback at every stage of our process. We do try to let you know the outcome of each stage as quickly as possible, often via email, so please check regularly for messages from our recruitment team.

The stages at which we are able to provide you with individual feedback is if you complete our Situational Strengths Test (SST) and if you attend an assessment centre.

Candidates who complete our SST will receive a personalised feedback report and candidates who attend an assessment centre will all receive feedback over the phone within a 2 week period of attending.

How can I get in touch with someone in Capgemini recruitment?

Please read the information on this page and related web pages. If you cannot find the information you require, email the recruitment team.

I am an international student can I apply to Capgemini's graduate programmes?

You are welcome to apply, but please be aware that many of our roles require security clearance, for these roles you will need to have been resident in the UK for at least five years with no longer than 6 months living outside of the UK.

Does Capgemini accept speculative CVs ?

Capgemini doesn't accept speculative CVs for the graduate programme. Instead, please apply for a position by selecting the appropriate role within the "Which role is for me?" section above.

Can I apply for more than one Capgemini job or programme?

No, you can apply for only one role at a time. If during our selection process we feel your skills are better suited to a different role, we'll discuss this with you. If at any point you would like to alter your application to apply for a different role, please tell us.

If I am unsuccessful, when can I reapply?

If you are unsuccessful at any stage of the process, you can reapply 12 months after your initial application.

Can you explain what to expect during the application process?

There are 4 stages to our process: The Application, Situational Strengths Test, Digital Interview and Assessment Centre. Please see the How Do I Apply section, above, for further details .

Can I receive feedback on my performance at each stage of the application process?

There are two stages to our recruitment process where we can provide candidates with feedback. If you receive an invite to complete our Situational Strengths Test, once completed you will receive a customised report which highlights your top three strengths and how you can further develop these. This report is provided regardless of whether you get through to the next stage of our process. All candidates who attend an assessment center with us will get verbal feedback. This is usually provided within a two week period of attending an AC.

What are your closing dates for applications?

We close roles as soon as we have enough applications to fulfil our requirements, you can see which roles are open in the "Which role is for me?" section. We recommend that you submit your application asap as candidates are progressed on a first come, first served basis.

Am I guaranteed a job at the end of the programme?

You join Capgemini on day one as a permanent full-time employee. Your Capgemini career will continue after the graduate programme ends.

What help will you give me to get started on the programme?

Your career at Capgemini will begin with a one-week induction. There's an amazing atmosphere and it helps to create a really strong community.

Will I always work in the office that is my base location?

In order to understand and meet our clients' needs fully and so that we can work as a team most Capgemini projects are based on client sites. This means in a normal working week you will be working at the client's office, wherever it may be, rather than at your base location. All reasonable expenses will be paid when you are staying away from home. Most of our graduates find this an exciting opportunity, as you'll see from the videos they have made for us.

What happens after I have accepted my offer?

After the recruitment team have been in touch to extend your verbal offer and share the offer details with you, you will then be supported by our onboarding team who will request the necessary information from you in order to raise your written offer and to make all the necessary arrangements to make your onboarding experience a positive one.

Please send us the documentation we ask for as soon as possible so as not to delay the process of getting you started. It may sound like a lot to do, but don't worry the onboarding team will be with you every step of the way and will answer all your questions.

How do I make you aware of my disability and the adjustments I need to be made during the selection process?

Please include details on your application form. If you would like to speak to someone about your needs please contact Kerry.Blondell@Capgemini.com.
